On an old farm in the rural south of mid-twentieth century America, Margarett Melville, the daughter of a plantation owner, and her closest friend Charles Drake III, a young African American boy and son of one of her father’s servants, are an unlikely pair of companions brought together in a time when the world was a much more divided place. Through their childhood and into becoming adults these two friends share a bond that helps them to overcome very difficult times and adversity as others segregate them because of their differences.
But these two friends are not like the others. They will not be kept apart. Their destiny is revealed as the two companions embark on a fantastic journey through time and all across the globe on a mission to blur the lines between cultural differences.
