American Revolution Medley (Wind Quintet)
This American Revolution/ War of Independence Medley contains the British Grenadiers, Chester and Yankee Doodle. It is arranged for wind quintet: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn and Bassoon. It includes: British Grenadiers: A regimental march proudly sung by the British Grenadiers while serving overseas, including during the American Revolution. In 1770 Dr J Warren patriotically wrote new lyrics to this tune which the colonists sang, called ‘Free America’. Chester: The unofficial National Anthem of the American colonies during the American Revolution. Yankee Doodle: Originally written by the British to make fun at the colonists during the French and Indian wars, it later became one of the colonists’ most patriotic songs.
