"Taylor Creek" Instructional Video
SUBJECT: Roland carefully shows and explains such important techniques as negative painting, wet-into-wet, scumbling, and pigment mingling. For the novice he also describes his paint palette, brushes, and other materials of choice. The subject matter is one of Zion National Park’s prominent peaks along Taylor Creek in Zion’s Kolob Canyons section. A hike up this trail in the Spring with snow on the ground makes perfect subject matter.
WHAT YOU GET: Immediate download. Run time about 1 hour 50 minutes. Watch the entire watercolor painting process from beginning to end as I show both my palette and painting, explaining each step as I go. You will see why I chose the subject and how I change the painting to make it better than the photo reference. Learn how I mix my pigments, which brushes I use, and how I apply the paint using both wet-into-wet and negative painting techniques. I use two cameras and on-screen text to explain important points.
