Marriage Encounters with Bill and Michelle

Helping Couples Love Better, Laugh More & Last Longer, with Faith, Fun, and Forever Love

Strong Marriages Don’t Happen by Accident.

Every marriage needs a check-in from time to time.

Maybe you love each other, but communication has gotten harder. Maybe life, work, children, ministry, money, or just plain busyness has pushed your relationship to the side. Or maybe things are good—and you want to keep them that way.

Marriage Encounters with Bill & Michelle provides practical, faith-centered marriage coaching designed to help couples communicate better, reconnect intentionally, work through challenges, and build a marriage that can grow through every season.

Faith. Fun. Forever Love.

You don't have to wait until your marriage is in trouble to invest in it.

Who are the Vann's?

Drs. Bill and J. Michelle Vann are a husband-and-wife team who have spent more than three decades building a life, family, businesses, and ministry together. Married for 35 years, they bring more than theory to marriage coaching—they bring real-life experience navigating the changing seasons of marriage, raising two children, entrepreneurship, ministry, family responsibilities, and learning how to remain friends through it all. Their approach combines faith, humor, honest conversation, and practical relationship tools to help couples communicate better, reconnect, and become more intentional about the marriage they are building. They don't teach couples how to have a perfect marriage; they help couples learn how to keep choosing each other while building a marriage that can grow, adjust, laugh, love, and last.

Faith. Fun. Forever Love.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is marriage coaching the same as marriage counseling or therapy?

No. Marriage coaching is educational, practical, and forward-focused. We help couples strengthen communication, connection, conflict-management skills, and intentional relationship habits. We do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. When a situation requires clinical support, we may recommend working with an appropriately licensed professional.

Do we have to be having marriage problems to work with you?

Absolutely not. Some couples come because they are struggling, but others simply want to protect what they have. Think of marriage coaching as relationship maintenance—you don't have to wait until something is broken to give it attention.

What happens after we purchase a package?

You'll receive information about completing your Marriage Check-In Assessment and scheduling your first session. Both partners complete the assessment separately before coaching begins. This gives us a clearer picture of how each of you experiences the relationship.

Which package should we choose?

If you're unsure, start with the Marriage Check-In. It's a focused 60-minute session that helps us identify what's working, what needs attention, and whether additional coaching would benefit you.

Do both spouses need to participate?

For our couples coaching packages, yes. The goal is not to determine who's right or wrong—it's to help both partners understand what's happening in the relationship and learn how to move forward together.

What if my spouse isn't excited about coaching?

That's not unusual. You don't have to arrive equally enthusiastic, but both partners should be willing to participate respectfully and honestly. We'll take it from there.

Is your coaching faith-based?

Faith is an important part of who we are and can be incorporated into your coaching experience. We also understand that couples may be at different places spiritually. Our approach is practical, respectful, and centered on helping you strengthen your relationship.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. We treat your conversations with care and discretion. We will also explain the expectations and boundaries of the coaching relationship before beginning.

Can you guarantee that our marriage will improve?

No ethical coach can guarantee an outcome. We can provide tools, structure, accountability, perspective, and support—but both partners have to do the work. What happens between coaching sessions matters just as much as what happens during them.

What if we're dealing with something more serious?

Marriage coaching isn't appropriate for every situation. Concerns involving abuse, safety, active addiction, severe mental-health concerns, or circumstances requiring diagnosis or clinical treatment may need support from licensed mental-health, medical, legal, or other appropriate professionals.

Do you offer premarital coaching?

Yes. Before We Say “I Do” is our four-session premarital coaching experience. We help couples have important conversations about communication, conflict, money, intimacy, family, faith, expectations, children, roles, and their shared vision before the wedding.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Virtual coaching makes it possible for couples to participate from the comfort and privacy of their own space.

What if we need more help after our package ends?

We'll discuss your progress and next steps before your package ends. Depending on your needs, you may schedule a Marriage Check-In, continue with another coaching experience, attend a Marriage Encounters workshop or retreat, or receive a referral for another type of support.

What makes coaching with Bill and Michelle different?

We're not approaching marriage only from a workbook. We bring more than three decades of marriage, family life, entrepreneurship, ministry, friendship, mistakes, growth, and choosing each other through changing seasons. We combine those experiences with practical tools, honest conversations, faith, and plenty of humor.

Our goal isn't a perfect marriage. It's a healthier, more intentional one.
