Plural Endings · B1+/B2 · Pronunciation | No-Prep ESL Pronunciation Lesson
A ready-to-teach B1+/B2 pronunciation lesson on how we really say the plural -s: /s/, /z/ and /ɪz/.
Students start on their feet with sound corners, walking to the /s/, /z/ or /ɪz/ corner for each word they hear. They then learn the golden rule (the last sound of the base word, not the spelling), with a throat test and a syllable-clapping test for each pattern. A team sorting race, a sentence gap-fill and an odd-one-out game build accuracy, and a class survey (How many countries have you visited?) puts the sounds into real conversation, with homework that previews third person -s.
What's inside (one PDF):
- 16 colourful slides to project, with answer keys straight after each exercise
- Golden rule, one slide per sound with examples, a memory trick and a word bank
- Team sorting race, complete-the-sentence task and odd-one-out game
- Movement warm-up, mingle survey, wrap-up and homework
Level: B1+ / B2 · Time: 45–60 minutes · Prep: none. Project and teach; you model the sounds yourself, so no audio is needed.
Please note: this is a slides-only lesson, without a separate printable worksheet. It is also part of the Pronunciation Toolkit bundle of 16 lessons.
