Spanish 2 Unit 2: El fantasma

A 16-day comprehensible input unit designed for novice Spanish learners. Co-create a class ghost together as you learn about cultural comparisons between Día de los Muertos and Halloween.

Students will learn to:

• describe Halloween and Día de los Muertos using learned Spanish vocabulary
• understand the differences and similarities between Halloween and Día de los Muertos
• explain what they did at each celebration using the preterite tense
• review and use present tense and preterite tense verbs in ÉL and YO
• understand the main idea and important details of a co-created story
• demonstrate comprehension through gestures, one-word responses, and short answers
• build confidence understanding Spanish without translating every word
