Kitson Glowfold: Original 8-Bit Firefly Herding Game (Browser, Offline)

Herd a swarm of fireflies home with your lantern before dawn.

Wick the mouse carries a lantern through the night meadow. Fireflies follow its light as a drifting swarm: lead enough of them into the glass jar before dawn. Hold BRIGHT to pull the swarm tight (it burns oil). Webs catch fireflies until your lantern frees them; frogs splash, owls swoop and gusts blow, which scatter the swarm but never hurt it. Later meadows have a gold jar and a blue jar, with gold dots and blue crosses to sort. 16 meadows, then the endless Long Night.

What you get: the full game as one small file. Double-click it and it opens in your web browser. Plays offline in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook; nothing to install. Touch controls are built in, but opening a downloaded file on a phone or tablet varies by device, so a computer is easiest. No ads, no accounts, no tracking. Keyboard, mouse and touch controls, plus a MENU button for restart, sound and level select.

Controls: Arrows/WASD move the lantern, hold Space for BRIGHT, P = pause, M = sound. On a phone or tablet: drag anywhere to move the lantern and hold the BRIGHT button.
