Yarn, Yardage, and Colors

The pattern calls for 208yds/190m of DK yarn, but can easily be customized. It works well in anything from a lace weight to an aran weight, and can be adjusted in length and width to accommodate different weights and yardages.

The pattern works well to break up variegated yarns, but the variegation will obscure the pattern details. To showcase the stitching, choose a solid, self-striping, or gradient colorway.

Overview of the Finished Object

The Dreamtime Spring Scarf is a perfectly symmetrical lacy scarf. It features basic openwork as a background, and a center column of shell-style stitches running down the center of the scarf. The scarf is worked so that both halves are the same, with the stitches heading in the same direction for both halves.
