The Abyssal Steampunk Cthulhu Mask Template
This template is a digital DIY pattern designed for makers to create a wearable "Cthulhu" or "Squid" style mask. It combines organic, eldritch horror elements with a "steampunk" or "industrial" twist, characterized by the rivet details and structured eye-pieces.
The Main Body: The purple assembly in the photo shows a multi-layered construction. The mask uses a central ridge (the dotted line piece in the bottom left of your template) to create the "forehead" and nose bridge.
The Tentacles: The long, curved strips on the template represent the facial tentacles. These are likely heat-shaped to give them that lifelike, flowing movement seen on the finished model.
The Eye Portals: The circular template labeled "Detail Top Cover for Eye Hole" is designed to create a reinforced, mechanical look around the eyes. In the finished photo, these are accented with silver rivets or studs.
The "Ear" or Side Fins: The black textured piece on the side of the finished mask adds an aggressive, aquatic silhouette, mimicking the fins of a squid or the wings of Cthulhu.
EVA Foam (3mm to 5mm): Best for the main structure because it can be heat-curved.
Contact Cement: For the high-strength bonding required for the tentacle seams.
Heat Gun: To "train" the tentacles into their curved positions.
Metal Studs/Rivets: To provide that signature steampunk industrial finish.
The pattern is highly modular. While the template provides the base structure, the finished photo shows that the maker has added custom textures (like the hatched pattern on the black fin) and specific paint gradients to give it a more "organic" feel.
If you are using this on A3 paper as the filename suggests, ensure your printer settings are set to "Actual Size" (100% scale) to maintain the correct proportions for a human head! zdesignworks
