Filthy Rags

FILTHY RAGS

No amount of good works can save a sinner.

We can feed the hungry, give to the poor, serve our communities, and perform countless acts of kindness. But none of these good deeds can erase our sin or make us righteous before a holy God.

Isaiah 64:6 reminds us that even our righteous acts are like filthy rags.

Salvation is not something we earn. It is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8–9 makes it clear: We are saved by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast.

Good works do not produce salvation. Genuine saving faith produces good works (Ephesians 2:10).

We don't do good works to become saved. We do good works because we have been saved.

Our righteousness is found in Christ alone.
