Kumi Pinton — Author of Whitework (2024, Bunka Publishing Bureau, Japan).

This book represents my lifelong commitment to preserving and sharing these delicate techniques.

I first encountered Hedebo embroidery in 2009 at Skals Håndarbejdsskole in Denmark. Since then, I have studied traditional whitework techniques across Europe — including Italy, France, and the UK and have spent over ten years teaching whitework embroidery in Japan, with more than 700 students to date.

Through this course, I share these techniques in a way that is both authentic and accessible, so you can enjoy the process wherever you are in the world.
