Camellia Blooms Sweater

The Camellia Blooms Sweater is a perfect introduction to knitting a sweater in pieces (and learning to sew the pieces together). It's a drop shoulder design with lots of options - two neckline options, two body lengths, two sleeve lengths, and even different variations for the neckline, cuff, and hem edgings. You can create a truly custom sweater. Intended to be worn with approximately 4-8 in [10-20.5 cm] positive ease at the full bust OR upper torso. After choosing a size based on that measurement, double check the sleeve circumference to ensure it will fit properly. If necessary, go up a size so the sleeve circumference fits the upper arm with at least 2 in [5 cm] of positive ease.

Size 3 shown on mannequin with 34 in [86.5 cm] bust with 7 in [18 cm] ease at bust.

Needles:

US 4 [3.5 mm] 16 in [40 cm] circular needle, needles for working flat, and needles for knitting a small circumference in the round (or one size smaller than gauge-size needle)

US 5 [3.75 mm] needles for working flat and needles for working a small circumference in the round (or size needed to obtain gauge)

Yarn:

This sweater is designed with two yarns held together to equal a DK-weight [CYC Light 3] yarn with a gauge of 5.5 stitches to the inch [2.5 cm].

The samples are worked in two version with yarns from Knit Picks - the first uses two yarns held together, a lace-weight [CYCL Lace 0] mohair and silk yarn held with a fingering-weight [CYC Super Fine 1] yarn (Tonia's sample), and the second video tutorial sample uses Heatherly Sport, a blend of acrylic and Merino.
