Renovation Budget & Change Tracker
See how committed costs and proposed changes affect a renovation budget.
Use your own entries in a reusable offline planner or calculator, then keep the details reviewable with the accompanying printables. Monetary entries and outputs use UK sterling (£).
WHAT YOU GET
- One offline HTML tool: renovation.html.
- One three-page A4 PDF: a quick-start guide and two purpose-specific printable worksheets.
- Read-Me-First.txt with extraction, opening and backup instructions.
The three files are supplied together in one ZIP download.
SPECIFIC FEATURES
- Budget and contingency
- Committed and paid costs
- Separate proposed changes
Set a project budget and contingency, then track estimates, committed costs and payments. See what remains to pay and model proposed changes separately before adding approved work to your commitments.
EXAMPLE
£10,000 base plus 10% contingency = £11,000; £8,000 committed, £3,000 paid gives £5,000 outstanding.
The supplied example is illustrative. Replace sample figures, dates and records with your own; the examples are not recommended prices or promised outcomes.
USING AND SAVING YOUR FILE
Download and extract the ZIP, then open the HTML file locally in your desktop browser. There is no subscription needed to use the supplied files. Browser-local saving is optional and off by default. It can vary with browser and security settings, so use the manual JSON export/import controls for dated input backups. A results CSV export is separate from the editable JSON backup. Data entered in this tool is not uploaded to a bank or cloud service.
REQUIREMENTS
Use a desktop browser that can open local HTML files and download CSV/JSON files. Checked in desktop Chrome; other browsers and mobile layouts have not been verified. The PDF can be viewed or printed with a PDF reader. No spreadsheet licence is needed for this HTML product.
PRACTICAL LIMITS
A contingency is your allowance, not a promise that it will cover overruns. Commitments and payments need your own updates. Keep the same cost and tax basis throughout the project.
Available budget is base budget plus the contingency you set. Outstanding is committed minus paid. Proposed changes model additional exposure; if approved, move the cost into the commitment record and remove it from proposals to avoid double counting.
There are no automatic notifications, messages, applications, transactions or live integrations. You enter and maintain the records and perform any real-world action yourself.
USE LICENCE
