From time to time, Michael Brückner delves into his archive of unfinished projects — musical sketches and collaborations that, for one reason or another, were left dormant on a hard drive years ago. Some are promising albums that never quite found their final shape; others are joint ventures that stalled before reaching completion. For his latest release on Cyclical Dreams, Michael has revisited two such projects — both dating back to 2007 — approaching the material with a fresh ear and renewed inspiration. In the process, he began adding new elements, which in turn sparked the creation of entirely new pieces. The result is a compelling symbiosis of old and new ideas: a seamless blend that traverses a range of electronic styles — from ambient and Berlin School to chill-out, IDM and more experimental textures. Yet, throughout, the album remains unified by a shared aesthetic vision and a vivid sense of musical journey — one that moves fluidly through shifting colours, tones and timbres.
