WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING

★★★★ “Each year we have a Veteran's Day assembly at our school and invite area veterans to attend. Last year our principal announced that each grade level needed to do an art project, so we could decorate the hallways prior to the Veteran's Day assembly. This resource was a lifesaver! My students enjoyed picking out different pictures to draw and paint. They proudly showed off their artwork to the special guests that came that day. Their pictures looked so colorful and neat in the hallways leading into our assembly area.” Staci F.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE)

  • 10 Veterans Day Directed Drawing Lessons with step-by-step visuals, including American flag, soldier, poppies, helmet on cross, candle and flag, kid with flag, star, “Thank You Veterans” and more
  • Blank Draw-On Pages for sketchbooks, duotangs or art journals
  • Title/Cover Page for workbook assembly

WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

Students follow step-by-step visual guides to build drawing confidence, strengthen fine motor control, line and shape recognition and proportion awareness, and explore the elements of art: line, shape and space. They also express gratitude and respect through symbolic imagery while building focus and persistence.

HOW TO USE IT

Print single pages for individual lessons, or photocopy the full set as a Veterans Day directed drawing workbook. Students can draw on the sheets, on blank paper or in sketchbooks, then outline with black marker or fine liner and color with crayons, pencil crayons, markers or watercolor. Use them for Veterans Day lessons, art centers, early finishers, sub plans, homeschool art and hallway displays.
