Valentines Day Heart Art Lesson Valentines Art Project Valentines Art Activity
This Valentine's Day Heart Art Lesson teaches the Element of Art: Line as students create a Valentine's Day art piece with pencil crayon and paint. The finished heart frames make a cheerful Valentine's bulletin board display.
The lesson comes with a visual and text step-by-step (each step on its own page with a description), a rubric for marking, a "What Is Line?" handout, and a step-by-step for drawing the heart. A pre-drawn heart template is included for younger students or when you need to adapt the lesson. All of my art lessons are original ideas by Ms Artastic.

HOW TO USE IT
Look over the lesson plan for what to do and which materials you need, and gather them in advance. Read through the visual and text step-by-steps, and consider making a sample yourself so you are ready to help students. Photocopy the student handouts, such as the step-by-step draw and the rubric.
Print the poster sample in color and show it before the lesson as your hook. Then show the PDF on a projector or under a document camera for students to follow, or use it as your guide while you demonstrate. Every step has both a visual and a text description.
