HOW TO USE IT
Look over the lesson plan for the steps and materials, and gather supplies in advance. Check the visual and text step-by-steps, and consider making a sample yourself so you are ready to help students. Photocopy the student handouts you need, such as the step-by-step drawing handout and rubric.
Print the example art piece in color and show students what they are making before the lesson, as your hook. Then project the PDF on a digital projector or document camera for students to follow, or use it as your guide while you demonstrate. Every step has both a visual and a text description to keep things clear.
Materials: pencil, eraser, black felt, 30 step-by-step draw handouts, watercolor paints or tempera paint cakes, oil pastels, scissors and glue, card stock or watercolor paper, paint brush and water.
