Dive into your scrap bin or miniskein calendar with this cozy striped cowl! The easy slipped-stitch pattern makes knitting stripes fun and gives the finished cowl subtle texture. Finish with fringe, or keep it simple with a round of crochet.
This cowl is provisionally cast on and worked flat, horizontally in stripes, until all stripes have been worked. After joining the last row to the provisionally cast-on row, the cowl is folded in half and the 2 layers of fabric are secured to each other via either fringe or a round of single crochet.
A low-vision version of the pattern is also available. This version is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out.

Gauge
20 st, 40 rows per 4 in / 10 cm in garter; gauge is not critical for this project, but differences may affect the size of the finished cowl or the amount of yarn needed
