What is a Monster? contains two poems based on the novel Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley. The first poem, "The Night I Found Peace" is told from the perspective of the Frankenstein monster, who decides that he no longer needs his creator. The second poem, Dr. Frankenstein's last statement, portrays Doctor Frankenstein at his trial after a guilty verdict has been reached against him.
