Botanical motifs are some of my favorite shapes and textures to play with in knitting, and I know I’m not alone, judging by the number of leafy patterns out there! Here is a small collection of luxurious accessories, specifically created to show off the plush roundness of DK-weight Kunlun in cables, textured stitches, and lace. Treat yourself—or give a lovely gift!

Chambord
This cozy cowl features an all-over textured berry pattern broken up by a section of twisting, cabled brambles. No prickles here, just sweetness!

Verdenal
These alternating cabled and open motifs remind me of the clustered flower heads of lavender. These patterns lend themselves to some fun crown shaping and a great detail at the top of the hat, but you can also use this stitch pattern for a cowl if you like. The name is an anagram of ‘lavender’.

Zephirine
Garlands of blossoms and leaves alternate around this rose-inspired cowl. It’s named for a climbing rose called Zephirine Drouhin, an antique thornless variety with pink, fragrant flowers.
