This eye-catching beanie features a bold colour work design inspired by tribal patterns. The repeating motifs are easy to follow, but provide an interesting and addictive knit with an attractive finished design.
Sizing Guide
The pattern gives two sizing options: regular adult, which is designed to fit a 21-22” head circumference, with up to 2” negative ease at the headband; and adult large, which is designed for a 23-24” head circumference, again with up to 2” negative ease. The length for both is 8.5”, providing a slightly relaxed and slouchy overall fit.
Yarn
Any DK weight yarns will work for this design. Approximately 35g / 65m of each colour choice is required.
Contrasting yarn colour choices will ensure that the colour work pattern is shown off to best effect.
Swatch
On 4mm (US size 6) needles, 24 sts in stockinette over 24 rounds creates a 4x4” square following the colourwork pattern.

3.5mm (US size 4) and 4mm (US size 6) circular needles.
4mm double pointed needles may be preferred for the crown of the hat although the pattern can be completed using only circulars.
