What is the purpose?
As teenagers, we often face challenges that we want to overcome, regardless of our age. In seeking to cope with our situations, we frequently encounter doubt and dismissal—whether it's regarding our mental health, career aspirations, or personal growth. We may feel unheard by those we love, struggle with self-doubt, or feel trapped without a way to break free from our circumstances. Past traumas can be especially hard to let go of. We're often told, "Just get over it; you're just a kid," or "Why not talk to someone?" But reaching out can be daunting, especially when we worry about negative feedback or the possibility of being judged.
This book addresses difficult topics such as sexual assault, suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, and physical abuse. Many readers may find these subjects uncomfortable, and that's okay—feel free to skip any sections that are too heavy for you. The aim here is to provide steps to help mend what’s broken and develop healthier habits, so you can find peace within yourself. Remember, there’s no shame in relating to any of this. We’re building a community where you can feel safe and supported. You are not alone.
