Soft Edges Top
This oversized top combines modern minimalist look with beautiful details. The curved hem and cropped length add a flattering silhouette to this versatile piece that can be worn as a slipover over a shirt or by itself as a summer top.
The work begins with shoulder and neckline shaping. The shoulder increases are worked in every round and the neckline is shaped with short rows for comfortable fit. When the necessary shoulder width is achieved, front and back are worked separately to the underarms and then joined for working in the round again. The hem is shaped with short rows and finished off with a ribbing. Aside from weaving in the yarn ends and blocking, this top needs no other finishing. The pattern includes a photo tutorial for the German short row technique.
