The colour of the kingfisher that visits the wall at the back of my garden by the mill pond.   Sometimes theres just that flash of teal.
Dyed with indigo from a sustainable source (UK) and woad and weld grown in my dye garden.

Any skeins dyed with woad / indigo are individually dyed, one at a time, so there will be differences in colour between them.  So please bear in mind if you need 2 or 3 for a project, you will need to blend them.  Woad is a labour of love, giving the most gorgeous of all the blues.

100g Skein is approx 270m
Woollen spun 3-ply DK weight yarn
Very lofty and fluffy - very soft next to the skin.

Castleshaw Yarn is derived from local sheep in the valley here, which sits on the edge of the Pennines. The yarn is woollen spun in Yorkshire and has a very traditional soft, bouncy yarn, the sort of yarn that you could quickly knit up a jumper in, and feel cosy and soft immediately.

The natural colour - HARE - is a silvery grey, with a slightly warm feel.  The colour comes from the Castleshaw Coloured Ryelands sheet, when mixed in with the Dorset sheep that also live in the valley.  We also have a small proportion of the valleys pet sheep - cheviot, jacob, border leicester, and valais that can go into the mix which would otherwise go to waste.
