On the coldest days of winter, I am very thankful for hand-knit wool hats, and I’m especially thankful for the extra warmth offered by hats with stranded colorwork. That stranding provides extra warmth thanks to the air that’s trapped by the floats on the inside; you could call it built-in insulation.

The Yofi Hat features a colorwork motif that is easy and accessible to those just getting started in knitting with more than one color, as it uses no long floats. Using worsted weight yarn, it knits up quickly and easily.

To knit this pattern, you need to know how to:
- knit and purl when working in the round,
- read and work from a colorwork chart, and
- do basic increases and decreases (k2tog).

The colorwork pattern is only charted.
