Flora is the first piece in a set of five from my Transmutation series. The purpose of this series was to come up with a way to link the visual artistic realm with the sonic. As a way to deal with growing stress of ongoing projects and rushing deadlines, I started to paint and explore a different art form simply for the pleasure of doing it. Looking back at these works, I began to get inspired to attempt to turn them into visual scores. They slowly evolved into an aleatoric journey that varires from performance to performance and allows each performer to deeply create their own sonic world with no limitations. The images of this particular piece represent the ebb and flow of the natural world - smoothly transitioning from moments of serenity to calamity.
