In the mid-1800’s AD, there was a flurry of activity and study of the scriptures, in what became known as the Great Awakening. Vast evangelistic meetings of hundreds, and thousands, of peoples were held all over the world, and especially in the United States of America, that had previously been unheard of, as well as unseen, before in Christian history. The great time prophecies of Daniel and of the Revelation of Jesus Christ were studied with a seriousness and intent that were before unknown. Through such rigorous and zealous piety towards God’s providential promptings by the Holy Spirit, the past, present & future of God’s will, justice, love & grace were more fully comprehended. Jesus Christ was magnified & glorified.

Not all was always harmonious and beneficial among those eager students and servants of Christ, but the over all outcome glorified God. In once instance there was the Great Disappointment which came through a fault in certain unwarranted expectations, but that too, also led to God’s word being held above all of men’s vain traditions and opinions. As God’s people prayed more earnestly, new insights were given from heaven to supply their misunderstandings and lack of knowledge. There were also certain minor disagreements that led to diversion away from the primary messages for the time, and announcement of the soon coming of the Saviour, Jesus Christ, the second time. One such quarrel was over the specific meaning of the phrase “the daily” as it is given in Daniel 8:11,12,13, 11:31, 12:11 KJB. Though certain leaders among the disputers were asked to study the matter out together, and resolve their differences by the Bible, it ultimately never materialized, and the matter was never fully resolved in consensus. The division remains.

One group, focusing more intently upon the Bible than another, came to the conclusion that “the daily” was the heavenly ministration of Jesus Christ, while the other group, also having certain texts of scripture, leaned more heavily upon some statements made by a church leader. This bolstered their position that “the daily” was what was termed as the force of “paganism”. The two positions could not be more opposite. One heavenly and of Christ. The other earthly and of satan. Who was right, if any at all?

This present written material is designed to consider these things from the primary source of information, namely, the holy scriptures (KJB; King James Bible, English, being translated from the HOT (Hebrew Old Testament) and the GNT TR (Greek New Testament Textus Receptus)) and not from any other source, though other materials will give additional confirmation afterwards. The reason for this is found in the texts of Isa. 8:20; 1 Pet. 4:11 KJB.

This labour of love (unto God & mankind) is also designed to appeal to the widest audience as possible, so that all may, “... sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Pet. 3:15 KJB), placing a long-forgotten gem of glorious truth back into its place of honour.
