RF Student Mentoring Full Program With Goal Setting Curriculum
***Limited Time Special Offer! *** The RF Student Mentoring Program can help students improve engagement, behavior, attendance, self esteem, and self confidence. By bringing in a positive role model who meets with an individual student consistently, students feel like they have another adult in their lives that they can trust. The RF Student Mentoring Program focuses on having the mentors make positive connections with their Mentee from the start. Their main role is to be a "cheerleader" for the student. This program has been designed for a paraprofessional, parent, or member of the community to oversee and monitor the mentors, as teachers and campus leaders do not have the time. This person(s) is referred to as the Site Leader. This person is provided with videos that guide them in recruiting Mentors, onboarding the program, and monitoring the program throughout the school year.
The RF program has all of the videos that you will need to establish a successful student mentoring program. All videos are easy to watch and do not exceed 40 minutes in length. The videos include:
- A program overview video for all of those assisting with the program - 14 minutes
- A training video for the Site Manager (campus leader) - 33 minutes
- Site Leader traning videos - 15 & 36 minutes
- Mentor training video - 26 minutes
- Video for the teacher of the Mentee, introducing them to the program - 5 minutes
- Video for the Mentee, introducing them to the program - 3 minutes
- Roadblocks Goals Setting Curriculum Video - 15 minutes
This program also includes PDF documents to assist with the program including:
- A Parent Permission Document, allowing their child to participate in the program
- An Interest Survey Document, so that the mentors can find out what their mentee enjoys doing
- An Activity Document, sharing ideas of what the Mentor can do with the Mentee during their time together.
This full program also includes the Roadblocks Goal Setting Curriculum, which allows the Mentor to teach their Mentee the goal setting process, starting with interest goals and then progressing to academic, behavioral, or life skills goals. The one missing component in the goal setting process that most youth do not completely understand is the identification of the barriers ("Roadblocks"), that make it challenging to have success with the chosen goal. The RF Roadblocks Goal Setting Curriculum focuses on having conversations around identifying the Roadblocks and establishing a plan to get passed these barriers. Each document focuses on this step-by-step process:
- Identify A Specific Goal
- Identify The Roadblocks
- Create A Reasonable (Realistic) Plan
- Reflection & Reassess
