Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Career?
You have spent years developing your technical expertise. You understand public health challenges, can analyse evidence, manage programmes, engage stakeholders, and contribute to change.
But consulting requires a different set of skills.
Winning work, positioning your expertise, pricing your services, writing proposals, managing client relationships, and building a sustainable consulting practice are rarely taught in public health training.
Public Health Consulting Essentials was created to bridge that gap.
Combining practical guidance, real-world tools, and insights drawn from over a decade of consulting experience, this course provides a structured roadmap for professionals who want to build a successful consulting career.
Whether you are exploring consulting for the first time or looking to bring more structure to your existing freelance work, this course will help you move forward with confidence.
What will you learn?
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
✔ Position your expertise as a consulting service offering
✔ Define and price your services with confidence
✔ Establish the foundations of your consulting business
✔ Identify and pursue consulting opportunities
✔ Write stronger proposals using practical examples
✔ Deliver value to clients and build long-term professional relationships
✔ Approach consulting with greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how the profession works
Why is this course different?
Many resources explain how to become a freelancer.
Few are designed specifically for public health professionals.
Public Health Consulting Essentials combines practical business guidance with the realities of consulting in global health and public health.
Throughout the course, you will not only learn practical skills such as pricing, proposal writing and business development, but also develop the mindset required to work effectively as an independent consultant.
The course is grounded in real consulting experience and includes practical exercises, templates and tools that you can immediately apply to your own consulting journey.

Meet Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Nadia Tekkal, a public health consultant with more than ten years of international experience supporting governments, NGOs and development partners across Africa, Asia and Europe.
Throughout my consulting career I have worked on projects ranging from health systems strengthening and programme monitoring and evaluation to strategy development, proposal writing, digital health, and stakeholder engagement.
Like many consultants, I had to learn much of the business side of consulting through experience.
Winning assignments.
Writing proposals.
Pricing my services.
Managing clients.
Learning what worked and what didn’t.
This course distils those lessons into practical guidance that I wish I had when I first started consulting.
My goal is simple: to help you avoid common pitfalls and build your consulting career with greater clarity and confidence.
