Pipe ceremony anyone? Explore the many uses of TOBACCO! Tobacco is a very versatile plant with many purposes. There are countless videos on YouTube about how to use it, but first you need to grow it! Yes, in your very own garden you can grow tobacco for your experimentation. Smoking, chewing, bartering, as a medicinal, herbal, pharmaceutical application, or (my favorite) an organic pesticide effective in killing beetles and aphids (by making a tea of the dried leaves). If you tried to watch all the videos online about growing and using tobacco, it would occupy a lifetime.

The seeds are miniscule, smaller than a spec of pepper. For this reason, I measure the seeds by weight. There’re about 300 seeds in .01 ounce. Each seed weighs between .01 and .02 milligram in case you want to do the math yourself. After you grow one tobacco plant, you’ll never need to order tobacco seeds again because they produce seed pods like crazy.

Tobacco is surprisingly easy to grow. Because of the size of the seed, it’s nearly impossible to single out 1 or 2 seeds. I would start the seeds in a shallow tray (w/drainage) of typical seed starting medium. Sprinkle the seed onto the soil and press in, keep moist. When the seeds sprout, carefully separate the seedlings into individual 3” pots (because they grow very fast). Transplant outside or in a larger pot as you deem appropriate. The Virginia Tobacco I grew is 5’ tall in a 15-gallon pot outside in a spot that is irrigated. Tobacco is fond of water, so regular watering is essential.

This offer is for an envelope containing .01 ounce of Virginia Tobacco Seeds (approx. 300 seeds) for $3 including USPS postage from Loxahatchee, FL. We don’t accept returns, but we will consider other remedies (refund, replacement) in the case of defective product or damaged delivery.
