Campanella Ukulele – Make Your Playing Ring Like Bells | Pale Pale Moon (Fingerstyle Tutorial)

Campanella is one of the most beautiful sounds you can create on the ukulele.

The word campanella means “little bells” in Italian, and it describes a style of playing where notes ring into each other like overlapping bells.

Instead of playing notes along a single string, we move across different strings so previous notes can continue ringing. The result is a shimmering, flowing sound that works wonderfully for fingerstyle arrangements.

In this lesson we explore the technique through my arrangement “Pale Pale Moon.”

This piece was written specifically to demonstrate how campanella playing can make a melody feel gentle, spacious and atmospheric.
