Based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved story, Matilda The Musical follows the journey of an extraordinary little girl with an incredible imagination and a brilliant mind. Although Matilda loves reading, learning, and storytelling, she often feels misunderstood by the people around her — especially her self-absorbed parents, who have little interest in her talents or intelligence.

Things do not improve when Matilda begins school at Crunchem Hall, where the terrifying headmistress Miss Trunchbull rules with intimidation and fear. Despite the challenges she faces, Matilda refuses to give up. Encouraged by the kindness of her teacher, Miss Honey, she discovers the courage to stand up for herself and her classmates and begins to realise that even the smallest person can make a big difference.

Filled with humour, heart, and powerful musical numbers, Matilda The Musical is an uplifting story about bravery, friendship, imagination, and believing in yourself. It celebrates the power of young people to change their own story and reminds us all that sometimes “naughty” can be a very good thing indeed.
