Description:
This is a pattern for a long scarf with a crescent shape. The Crescent shape is achieved using several short rows sections between straight parts of the scarf.
This is a great pattern to play with your yarn. You can use small pieces of leftover yarn for contrast sections. Choose your main color and then find up to 13 different coordinated colors with different types of fibers and textures between fingering and light worsted weight. You can choose 13 contrast colors/fibers/textures like in pattern sample 1 or you can choose fewer colors and repeat some of them like in pattern sample 2.

Materials:
Yarn: 440 yds (402 m) of fingering yarn for the main color and a total of 130 yds (117 m) for contrast colors or 13 yarns 10 yds (9 m) each from fingering to light worsted weight.
Needles: Size US 6 (4 mm) straight or circular needles at least 8’’ (20 cm) long
Notions: Markers, tapestry needle

Skills:
You’ll need to know how to knit and purl, do simple increases and decreases, and do short rows (the pattern is written for German short rows but you can substitute)

Size: One size, finished size 8.5” (21.5 cm) wide and 7’ (213 cm) long

Gauge: 24 sts and 26 rows = 4” (10 cm) in rib and welt pattern with main yarn
