Boatyard Socks

For sailors, work in the boat yard is very stop-and-go. One day you’re busy sanding wooden railings for 6 hours, and the next day you have nothing to do but sit and watch your varnish dry! These socks are ideal for intermittent working times. The leg texture, once established, is easily followed without reference to your paper pattern, and the modified boomerang heel has a ‘rest spot’ in the middle in case you can’t complete it all in one sitting. • 4-Ply/Fingering weight yarn, approximately 400 m / 435 yards
• 2.25 mm / US 1 needles, your choice of DPNs, 2-circulars, or one long circular for Magic Loop
