This Landscape Art Book is a set of imaginative landscape art lessons on color that come together as a creative art book for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. It is a gentle introduction to art that teaches young students how to draw while they learn about contrasting colors, color tints and mixing their own colors.

Students also use their imagination to create their own landscape and an imagination flower. A lesson plan comes with each page, which makes it a good choice for sub plans.

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING

★★★★★ “Building a program from the ground up - our school just added K-8 Art to the 9-12 program. This has been perfect for starting those littles out on the right foot with a solid foundation of Elements and Principles. Perfect!” Millicent B.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

A Student Art Book (6 pages and 1 coloring title page) and a Teacher Lesson Plan Book. The lessons are:

  • Flower Color Wheel
  • Sunset Landscape: Contrasting Colors and Color Tints (3 examples and 1 teacher page explaining contrasting colors and color tints)
  • Landscapes with Oil Pastels or Watercolors (2 pages: a rabbit, and a heron by a pond)
  • My Own Van Gogh Starry Night
  • My Landscape
  • Imagination Flower

HOW TO USE IT

Print the student pages single or double sided and staple them into a work book. The first page is a title page where students write their name and color the picture, which works as a hook: let students look at it and wonder what they might learn. If you prefer not to use a booklet, photocopy each page as a handout to go with its lesson plan and have students write their names on the back.

The lessons work with a variety of mark making mediums, and the lesson plans suggest different mediums or combinations to try.
