The Breast Cancer Ribbin' Scarf features cabled ribbon motifs at the two ends with a stretchy, lofty 2 X 2 ribbed section in-between.

The instructions for the Breast Cancer Ribbin' Scarf give you two options: you can work the scarf in one piece, or you can work it from the bottom up in two halves and then grafted together in the center using Kitchener stitch. But don't panic! If you choose the grafting method, detailed instructions are provided for the two most effective methods of grafting in 2 X 2 ribbed stitch, as well as close-up photos of the results. (See the last photo for a close-up of the graft at the fold of the scarf)

The scarf requires 500 - 600 yards of sport-weight yarn and size 4 (3.5mm) knitting needles to make a scarf that is 7“ wide X 60“ long/18 cm X 152.5 cm. The cable instruction are provided in both WRITTEN AND CHARTED formats, and this pattern has been professionally tech edited and pattern-tested.

This is a great pattern for anyone who enjoys doing intricate cable patterns or even for a beginner to the cable techniques.

I designed the Breast Cancer Ribbin' Scarf in memory of my mother, who passed away from breast cancer on March 10, 1997, as well as for all the strong women in my life (including my Aunt Judy and Aunt Janet) who have undergone their own struggles with breast cancer.

Thank you for looking at my designs! Happy Knitting!
