The May Well-Spring

In the Peak District and beyond, our ancestors knew that May was the opening. The month where the land's vitality peaks. On Wednesdays in May, it was tradition to visit the holy wells, the eyes of the Earth, to wash away the winter’s weight and reset the spirit.
