Originally for solo piano, “Für Elise” was one of Beethoven’s most famous pieces. It was neither discovered nor published until 1867, 40 years after Beethoven’s death. The identity of Elise, the woman for whom the piece was composed, remains a mystery.


This arrangement has been transposed to an easy key to keep the range below the break. The clarinet players should strive to keep a consistent tempo, listening to each other as the two parts fit together like a puzzle.
