WMD.Oxytocin
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the dual-use potential of reversible oxytocin-polymer conjugates, specifically oxytocin-(mPEGA480)₂₀. Originally developed for pharmaceutical applications to enhance peptide stability in aqueous solutions, this technology can also be weaponized for covert mass exposure. Upon administration via drinking water or aerosol, the polymer degrades, releasing bioactive oxytocin. The resulting physiological and psychological effects—including increased suggestibility, reduced critical thinking, and altered social behavior—could be exploited for population control, military incapacitation, and psychological warfare.
The paper details the chemical mechanism, clinical picture of exposure, scenarios of application, and potential countermeasures. It also addresses the ethical and legal implications, highlighting the "grey zone" status of such agents under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and Biological Weapons Convention (BTWC). The goal is to raise awareness and catalyze international regulation of reversible peptide-polymer conjugates.
