The Forest

This lesson is based around an image of a dying forest. In the lesson, students discuss what they think may have caused the forest to die and try to imagine the forest when it was healthy. They also create a role-play interview with a resident of the forest.

As an optional follow-up task, they have the opportunity to do some research into the causes of deforestation and present and discuss their research with the class.

Level: A2 - C2

Time: Up to 60 minutes

A great issues-based resource

"The Forest" is based around the idea of a dying forest. The image is well-chosen and the lesson plan easy to follow. There are endless ideas for using this in a language classroom to practice any of the skills. I'd recommend it along with "10 Image-Based Lesson Plans" to get your students to work on both their language and visual literacy skills.
