This Spring Finish the Picture resource gives students 10 partially started spring drawings to complete with their own ideas. Students continue the image, fill the page, and then color or shade their finished artwork.

Because the pages are open-ended, students make their own artistic choices and build original compositions from a simple starting point, using imagination, problem solving and visual planning. It is a low-prep, print-and-go option for classroom teachers, art teachers, substitute teachers and homeschool families.

HOW TO USE IT

For a quick task, students can complete one page in a single class. For a fuller spring art lesson, they can explore different mediums such as markers, crayons, colored pencils, watercolor or mixed media, add backgrounds and details, or complete several pages over time.

The pages work as a spring art lesson, fast finisher activity, bell ringer, sub plan, drawing warm-up, brain break, art center task or morning work. Expect a wide range of results, from simple and sweet to detailed and layered.
