Retention Secrets

Retention is one of the biggest things that affects our success.

This guide goes over things that will effect retention, like:

1. How you handle glue
2. How you dip and pick it up from glue
3. Touching surfaces before placing
4. How you place on the natural lash (base first, re-attaching when it detaches which is bad because the glue has already partially cured)
5. Having an adequate area of a bond between extension and NL
6. Lash pH
7. Friction- picking, rubbing, cleaning or drying with a washcloth, wiping around eyes with towel, not drying after lashes get wet which makes them stiff and flick off
8. Use of chemicals on face, then rinsing
9. Your understanding of the curing process
10. How well your glue works best for your needs (speed and environment)

80% of the time, retention problems are due to something on the lash artist’s end.
