Mathemagical Timbres is an additive synthesizer that uses mathematical number sequences to create very unique timbres. You can create a sawtooth wave with all harmonics, or a square wave with only odd harmonics as many synths can. But you can also use the long list of preset number sequences like Prime, Lucas or Fibonacci numbers. These create some very interesting timbres that you might never have heard before.

Generally, the synth is designed to sound as warm and analogue as possible with no aliasing or artifacts. Digital synthesizers often sound like plastic, which is exactly what this one avoids. It does this by generating 2048 harmonics with 64 bit precision.

To create analogue style imperfections, you can adjust or modulate the volume, panning or pitch of all 2048 harmonics in batches using the same number sequences as the oscillator.

The filters and equalizer also adjust the volume of the harmonics to mimic what a filter or equalizer does, but in a cleaner more natural way. To warm the final sound, it includes a widener, saturation and clipping.

Most modern synths cut back on sound quality to allow lower CPU usage and more functions. This synth is not like that, it has the highest possible quality. Because the sound quality is so high, you don't need a lot of effects or modulations to make it sound good. Just sweeping a filter through a plain waveform is a treat to the ears, similar to how the legendary analogue synths of the good old days worked.
