Mathemagical Timbres is an additive synthesizer that uses mathematical number sequences to create very unique timbres. You can create a sawtooth wave with all harmonics, or a square wave with only odd harmonics as many synths can. But you can also use the long list of preset number sequences like Prime, Lucas or Fibonacci numbers. These create some very interesting timbres that you might never have heard before.


You can also enter your own sequences to create your own timbres. Because it only allows whole numbers, even if you create an atonal sounding timbre, it will always fit into music fairly well because it only includes harmonics found in the harmonic series.


Generally, the synth is designed to sound as warm and analogue as possible with no aliasing or artifacts. Additive synthesizers often sound like plastic, which is exactly what this one avoids. It does this by generating 2048 harmonics and letting you adjust or modulate their volume, panning or pitch in batches using the same number sequences as the oscillator.


The filters and equalizer also adjust the volume of the harmonics to mimic what a filter or equalizer does, but in a cleaner more natural way. To warm the final sound, it includes a widener, saturation and clipping.
