Catch preventable file problems before opening the submission form

The Valas Shopify Chargeback File Preflight is a focused offline browser tool for merchants handling a chargeback or inquiry through Shopify Payments.

Record the exact deadline, time, and store timezone from Shopify Admin. Select the local working files you intend to review. The app then flags visible metadata and manual-input issues before you move into Shopify's live submission controls.

There is no account, Shopify installation, API key, subscription, telemetry, seller review, or manual fulfillment.

What it checks?

- PDF, JPEG, and PNG filename extension and browser-reported MIME.

- Whether each selected file is at or below 2,000,000 bytes.

- Whether all selected files together are at or below 4,000,000 bytes.

- A PDF page count entered by you, using the fewer-than-50-pages rule.

- Whether a future due date/time and IANA store timezone have been recorded.

- A concise blocker and manual-review summary that can be printed or saved as PDF.

The app also includes a generic evidence-order reminder, a final manual-review checklist, and direct links to official Shopify guidance.

Private by design

The preflight runs locally in a current desktop browser. It uses only filename, browser-reported type, byte size, and the page count you enter. It does not read, upload, transmit, or save selected file contents. Clearing or closing the page removes the working selection.

Important limits

A clear result is not file certification and does not mean a bank or Shopify will accept the material. The tool does not inspect or authenticate file contents, verify PDF/A, detect PDF Portfolios, count pages automatically, determine relevance or evidence strength, check legibility or redaction, repair files, connect to Shopify, monitor a deadline, select a response, upload evidence, submit a response, or predict an outcome.

Always compare the result with the live disputed order, exact submission controls, and current official requirements. The issuing bank or card company decides the dispute outcome.

Who it is for?

Requirements

Extract the ZIP and open `START-HERE.html` in a current desktop version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari with JavaScript, local file selection, and printing enabled. Official reference links require internet access only if you choose to open them.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded?

No. File-content data is not read, transmitted, or saved. The browser exposes limited metadata for the current session.

Does it count PDF pages?

No. Open each PDF and enter its page count yourself. The app flags missing counts and counts of 50 or more.

Does a clear result guarantee acceptance?

No. The preflight cannot verify content, PDF/A, Portfolio status, authenticity, relevance, legibility, redaction, or the live platform decision.

Does it submit the response?

No. Submission remains entirely inside Shopify Admin and is the buyer's responsibility.

Can I reuse it?

Yes. One purchasing business may reuse it across its own Shopify stores and disputes under the included license.
