Prism the Rainbow Doll

Prism the Rainbow Doll is an almost no-sew doll that wears a colorful dress and hair bow! Her head, body, arms, and legs are all crocheted in one piece. The only sewing that is required is for her braided pigtail hair cap, and for her bow. This project is great to make for Pride and if you have a lot of small skeins or yarn scraps in different colors waiting to be used up.

The PDF pattern includes 50+ in-line progress photos as part of a detailed photo tutorial to help guide you through the doll-making process.

MATERIALS

Medium weight 4 yarn in desired colors (I used Hobbii Amigo XL)

2.75mm crochet hook

6mm plastic safety eyes (x2)

Stuffing

Scissors

Wire or pipecleaner (to stabilize neck)

LEVEL

★★☆☆☆ Familiar Beginner. Requires familiarity with stitches used (below), changing colors, and attaching yarn.

STITCHES & TECHNIQUES USED (US TERMINOLOGY)

FO = fasten off

YO = yarn over

sk = skip (a stitch)

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)

dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together)

hdc = half double crochet

dc = double crochet

BLO = back loops only
