This Autumn Roll and Draw resource is a seasonal directed drawing game for elementary students. Students roll a dice to decide which features they will draw, then follow simple drawing steps to build fall characters and objects. Because every roll changes the design, each artwork turns out different.

The drawings include acorns, pumpkins, squirrels, turkeys, leaves, mushrooms, hedgehogs, corn, crows and scarecrows. It works well in elementary classrooms, homeschool art lessons and seasonal art centers, and students can play it many times and get a new picture each time.

HOW TO USE IT

Print single pages as drawing lessons, put them together as a fall roll and draw booklet, or use them in sketchbooks and art journals. The activity fits fall art centers, art rotations, October and Thanksgiving art lessons, early finisher work and sub plans. Prep is minimal: print and roll the dice.

Students can choose their own materials, such as crayons, markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolor or tempera paint. Along the way they practice drawing skills, following visual steps, fine motor control and making their own artistic choices.
