Child’s 8ply cardigan in three colours - Phoebe

This child’s 8ply set in sleeve cardigan is knitted in three colours. It has a round neck, 1x1 rib bands and striped sleeves.

 

This cardigan is very simple to knit, but the colour changes turn something plain into something special. Mine have been knitted in 'girly' colours but it would look equally striking in blue tones, or a black-grey-white combination.

 

Pattern sizes: 2 (4-6-8) years.

 

To fit chest: 55 (60-65-70) cm [21¾ (23½-25½-27½) ins].

Actual measurement: 63 (69-74-79) cm [25 (27-29-31) ins].

Length: 40 (44-48-52) cm [15¾ (17¼-19-20½) ins].

 

Yarn required: Carnival 8ply Double Knitting Yarn, 100g balls@310m.

1 (2-3-3) balls Main Colour.

1 (1-2-2) balls 1st Contrast.

1 (1-2-2) balls 2nd Contrast.

 

Needles required: A pair of 4.00mm [UK 8, US 6] knitting needles.

Wool needle for sewing up.

 

Other requirements: A stitch holder; 7 (7-8-8) buttons.

 

Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm [4 ins] over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.
