About the book

Ignorance Kills

Empty Promises, Crushed Hopes

Cancer patients went to their doctors hoping to find a cure exactly that, they wanted a cure. But there is no cure.

Were patients told the truth?

You will learn for yourself

the reality of today’s medical treatment for cancer

in this book.

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Introduction

Ignorance, Knowledge and Truth

When an engineer makes mistakes, the bridge collapses.

When a lawyer makes mistakes, he loses his case in court.

When a doctor makes mistakes,

the secret is buried in his patient’s grave.

Eight-year-old John, from Jakarta, was brought to our centre by his father. This young boy had been diagnosed with cancer when he was eight months old. He has been on medical treatment all these years. He got worse instead of better. The latest PET scan showed the cancer had spread to his liver and lungs. John is now undergoing chemotherapy and he had just done a biopsy of his lung tumour. When I saw him that morning, there was a tube hanging out of his chest. At age three, John had one of his cancerous kidneys removed.

I was upset and asked aloud why John had to be subjected to such drastic treatments for so long. John’s father repeatedly said I did not know of any other way. I did not know about CA Care. Yes, he was ignorant. I told John’s father that it was not my intention to blame anybody. There is no need to find a scapegoat. As far as he is concerned, he has given his best trying to cure his son by following the recommendations of the doctors. He did not ask and he did not read to know more. He was just ignorant.

Let’s look at another case. Jane, a Malaysian, suffered bleeding in November 2017. She went to a private hospital in Melaka and was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She underwent five cycles of chemotherapy and at the same time received 15 sessions of radiation. The treatment lasted from December 2017 to mid-January 2018. It cost RM100,000.

According to Jane’s husband the oncologist was not helpful at all.

In early February 2018, Jane went to another private hospital in Kuala Lumpur for brachytherapy. She received three treatments. This cost RM15,000. After completion of the treatment, PET scans done in September 2018 and again in October 2018 showed “no significant change noted” (whatever that means)!

But it was not to be. Another PET scan a month later showed the cancer had spread to the lung and bone. Jane did not want to go back to Melaka again for more chemo. She sought the help of another medical doctor who gave her high dose Vitamin C injection plus a low dose chemotherapy regime. Each treatment cost RM1,000. The treatment made her worse. The tumour grew bigger. PET scan showed the cancer had spread extensively.

What is most baffling is that during this Vitamin C treatment, Jane had to do PET scan every week just a day after the vitamin infusion!

Jane eventually landed in a government hospital. She was unable to walk and needed blood transfusion whenever necessary. According to her husband, there was nothing else the doctor could do. She was told to go home. It was at this point that Jane’s husband came to seek our advice.

I asked Jane’s husband, what is the logic of doing PET scan every week?

After receiving three Vitamin C infusions, the treatment had to be stopped because problems started to show up. After a break, Jane continued with the treatment again. Why persist with the treatment if she was not getting better? Jane’s husband replied, I did not know. I believed the doctor.

To Remain Ignorant Is Your Choice!

The two stories above show us it does not pay to be ignorant. It does not help to say I don’t know. For those of you reading this, what do you choose? To remain being ignorant? If you choose to be ignorant then there is no need for you to read this book any further! Close it and throw it into the dustbin, that is if you are upset enough by my challenge. Or you can give this book to another person. Maybe by doing that you may unknowingly help others.

If you choose NOT to be ignorant then this book is for you. It is written with the hope of helping you to be knowledgeable and empowered. I shall provide you with facts that I know, derived from my own experiences and readings besides the experiences of my patients who are really my teachers. It is from them that I learn the details of cancer treatment how they benefited or how they suffered.

When commenting on these cases, I shall pose questions for you to reflect on. In this way, I hope to encourage you to  think for yourself. I hope through self-awareness you get to learn something. Let what you learn shine some light into the darkness of the cancer world. I hope you can see what is in there!

Knowledge and Truth

Knowledge needs to be acquired. We cannot just sit under the coconut tree doing nothing and expect knowledge to fall onto our lap. In other words, we have to work for it the more we read, or the harder we seek, the more we are rewarded! That is how I transformed myself from being a “village boy” into a scientist and eventually a university professor.

When I started CA Care more than two decades ago, I knew nothing about cancer. I took an online TCM course from China. I read hundreds and hundreds of books on medicine, on alternative healing methods, on food, on spirituality, etc. Even up to this day, I am still reading books to help me understand more about what I am doing. I know of no other way of being knowledgeable than to work hard to search for knowledge ... that is to read and read.

Unfortunately, from my experience dealing with many cancer patients and their loved ones, I come to learn that most of them do not want to read or are not prepared to work hard for their healing. To be blunt, they don’t want to read or are lazy to read. Many like to be spoon-fed with instant information without having to do anything.
