1. Book Countdown: Release Countdown

Release day comes, you post the link, and it gets lost in the scroll. A countdown gives readers a reason to come back every day before launch, and to join your newsletter while they're there.

Book Countdown makes you a countdown calendar for your release: up to 14 doors that open one by one, with a little treat behind each. A scene, a character card, a playlist, a colouring page, a discount code, an audio clip, your cover reveal.

What you get

• Up to 14 doors, opening daily or on dates you choose

• Every kind of door: free books, downloads, pictures, scenes with formatting, audio and video, coupon codes, links

• Newsletter sign-up with a proper consent record for every reader

• Connects to Flodesk, Kit, Sender and EmailOctopus, so new subscribers go straight into your list (or download them as a spreadsheet)

• Five looks (including Winter, Cosmic and Spooky), your own colours, and doors as panels, presents or envelopes

• A share kit: your link, ready-made posts and graphics for posts and stories

• Embed it on your own website

• Hosted for you at bookcountdown.com, so there's nothing to install

Choose Standard or All inclusive: Standard has no reminder emails (readers add the doors to their phone's calendar instead). All inclusive sends reminder emails for you, for up to 2,000 readers.

Your calendar stays online for three months after its last door.

After you buy: within one working day you'll get an email called "Your Book Countdown organiser account" with your sign-in link. The Getting started guide (your download) walks you through the rest.

2. Book Countdown: Advent Calendar

December is busy, readers are busy, and a single "happy holidays" post doesn't do much. An advent calendar gives them a small gift every day for a month, and a reason to sign up to your newsletter.

Book Countdown makes you an advent calendar for your readers. Behind each door: a free book, a bonus scene, a festive short story, a character Christmas card, a colouring page, a discount code, an audiobook clip. You fill the doors once, and they open on their own, day by day.

What you get

• Up to 31 doors, so it works for advent, the 12 days of Christmas, or any month-long countdown

• Every kind of door: free books, downloads, pictures, scenes with formatting, audio and video, coupon codes, links

• Behind-the-scenes notes from you under scenes and stories

• Newsletter sign-up with a proper consent record for every reader

• Connects to Flodesk, Kit, Sender and EmailOctopus, so new subscribers go straight into your list (or download them as a spreadsheet)

• Choose whether past doors stay open all month or each door is only open on its own day

• Doors as panels, presents or envelopes, in mixed colours and sizes if you like

• A share kit with your link, ready-made posts and graphics, and an embed code for your website

• Copy it for next year in one click

• Hosted for you at bookadventcalendar.com

Choose Standard or All inclusive: Standard has no reminder emails (readers add the doors to their phone's calendar instead). All inclusive sends reminder emails for you, for up to 2,000 readers.

Your calendar stays online for three months after its last door.

After you buy: within one working day you'll get an email called "Your Book Countdown organiser account" with your sign-in link. The Getting started guide (your download) walks you through the rest.

3. Book Countdown: Group Calendar

Group promos usually mean spreadsheets, chasing files by email and one tired organiser copying everything into a website. Book Countdown does the busy work for you.

You make the calendar and share one invite link. Authors join, choose the dates they'd like, and fill in their own doors from their own private page. You approve each door before it goes live. Readers open a new door every day, and when they sign up they join the newsletter of every author taking part (with a clear consent record), or, if you prefer, they sign up door by door.

What you get

• As many authors and doors as you like (up to 31 doors), with one or several doors per author

• Invite by link or email, applications you approve, deadlines and automatic reminders for late authors

• Authors fill their own doors: free books, scenes with formatting, downloads, audio and video, coupons, links

• Each author downloads only their own subscribers, or connects Flodesk, Kit, Sender or EmailOctopus

• Optional participation fee or donation, so the authors can share the cost

• A share kit for every author with their own link, so you can see who brings readers

• Embed it on your website, password-protect it, or make a calendar just for authors

• Hosted for you at bookadventcalendar.com or bookcountdown.com

Taking part costs the authors nothing on Book Countdown's side. Charge them a small participation fee through the calendar if you'd like to cover the price: ten authors at $10 each pays for an All inclusive group calendar.

Choose Standard or All inclusive: Standard has no reminder emails (readers add the doors to their phone's calendar instead). All inclusive sends reminder emails for you, for up to 2,000 readers.

After you buy: within one working day you'll get an email called "Your Book Countdown organiser account" with your sign-in link. The Getting started guide (your download) walks you through the rest.

4. Book Countdown: Year Pass

One for every release. One for Valentine's Day. One for Halloween, one for back to school, and one for Christmas. Or make up your own occasions.

The Year Pass gives you as many solo countdowns and advent calendars as you like for 12 months. Count down to every launch, run a seasonal calendar for each holiday, celebrate a series anniversary, or give your pre-order a push. Every calendar grows your newsletter while it runs.

What you get

• Unlimited solo calendars for 12 months, each with up to 31 doors

• Everything in the Release Countdown and the Advent Calendar: every kind of door, newsletter sign-up with consent records, Flodesk, Kit, Sender and EmailOctopus connections, share kits, embedding, five looks and your own colours

• Copy any calendar to reuse it for the next release or next year

Calendar ideas for your year: release countdowns, pre-order pushes, Valentine's Day, Easter, summer reading, back to school, Halloween, Christmas, series anniversaries, birthday weeks for your characters.

Choose Standard or All inclusive: Standard has no reminder emails (readers add the doors to their phone's calendar instead). All inclusive sends reminder emails for you, for up to 2,000 readers per calendar.

Paid once, not a subscription: the pass simply ends after 12 months, and nothing renews unless you buy again. Calendars you make during the year stay online for three months after their last door. Group calendars aren't included (see the Group Calendar).

After you buy: within one working day you'll get an email called "Your Book Countdown organiser account" with your sign-in link. The Getting started guide (your download) walks you through the rest.
