The Old Testament Made Simple

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

When Paul wrote those words, the only Bible he had was the Old Testament. The Old Testament Made Simple is a plain-language, Bible-first tour of all thirty-nine books, from Genesis to Malachi, built for the Christian who wants to open the Old Testament tomorrow morning and actually understand it.

Across thirteen chapters plus a practical reading plan, you'll walk the four great sections — the Law, the History, the Poetry and Wisdom, and the Prophets — and learn why the Old Testament still matters, how the covenants (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and the New Covenant) carry one unfolding promise, and how key figures from Abraham to Esther show faith in real life. You'll see the Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — revealed from the first pages of Genesis, and you'll learn how every sacrifice, king, and prophecy points to Jesus Christ, just as He taught on the road to Emmaus.

Honest chapters face the hard questions head-on: the violence of the conquest, the strange laws of Leviticus, the imprecatory psalms, and why the God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New. The closing chapters give you a simple method for reading the Old Testament as a Christian and a one-year reading plan to finish all thirty-nine books with understanding.

Every chapter opens with Scripture and is written in plain language for everyday people, because difficult information should be made simple.

The old story that tells His.
